Abstract:
Vietnamese folk riddles and folk riddle-singing share many similarities in both content and verbal artistry, while each retains its own distinctive generic features. Identifying these distinctive characteristics through comparative analysis has long attracted scholarly attention. Meanwhile, Game Theory has been increasingly adopted as an analytical framework in Vietnamese literary studies. Against this background, the present study applies Game Theory to compare Vietnamese folk riddles and folk riddle-singing from the perspective of verbal artistry, with the aim of clarifying the distinctive characteristics of each genre.
